Jonathon's Four Month Check Up (at 5 1/2 months)

Yesterday I took all three boys to Vegas to the dr. I could see disaster written all over this, but it was necessary. Alex and Cam needed their flu shots and Jonathon his four month immunizations. Alex (who was only getting the nasal mist) completly freaked! It didn't matter how many times the nurse and I told him that he was not getting any shots, he didn't believe us and continued to freak, which caused Cam to freak then the nurse says "oh, I remember you guys from last time...". It's a little emarassing that she remembers us by my kids completly FREAKING OUT about shots, but what can you do? We finally got the mist squirted up Alex's nose and he went and hid in the hall way, so we did Cam's shot. He scrame like crazy over one little flu shot... Then Dr Mendoza came in and went over Jonathon's chart. He's 16.6 lbs 50% and I cant remember his height or head circumference, but they were both in the 25%. So he's short and chubby :). Dr and I were both surprised that his head was only in the 25%.. His head looks alot bigger than it actually is. Then Jonathon got his shots.. DIDN'T CRY! He got two shots and grunted during the second one, but did not cry! Little stud muffin! We finally got done at the dr (it felt like an eternity!) then we headed to McDonalds for some lunch then we went to Target for Alex's Halloween costume, then Old Navy for Cam and Jonathon's costumes. We got home just in time for dinner! It was a long day and I'm so glad it's over!

Puppies Galore!

A very tired little doggy!

Sally last night..

Our dog, Miss Sally Sue, had puppies this morning! We knew she was pregnant (we bred her) but we thought that dogs were pregnant for three months... Nope, only six weeks. She came in the house about 8:00 last night and climbed up onto my lap. She was panting and shivering. If I knew that dogs were only prego for six weeks I would have thought she was in labor (she was)
but since I thought she wasn't due for another month, I thought she was sick. I went to take a shower and she followed me to the room, jumps into bed, and climbs into the covers. I figured she would go find Danny while I was in the shower, but she didn't budge. I go to bed, Sally laying in the covers next to me and Danny comes to bed and puts her into her kennel. Well, Danny woke me up at 12:00 this morning and says, "I think Sally is in labor." So, we look up doggy signs of labor on Google. Reading all of the info kind of scared me. Just like humans, dogs can have a very difficult delivery. I was worried! So I fall back to sleep an hour later and at 6:30 this morning I hear a little whimper. At first I thought is that Sally? Then I heard it again and jumped out of bed because I knew it was a puppy! I woke Danny by saying "Sally had a baby!" I was so excited becuase this little puppy was so cute! All white except for a little black patch on its eye. Then she had three more by the time i had to take Alex to his music class and when I got home she'd had two more! So, if anybody wants a pure bred boxer puppy we have 4-5 for sale! (we're keeping the little white one and might be selling one to bro and sis in-law)

Ten Years Ago Today..

I can't believe that it has already been ten years. I remember this day like it was yesterday! It was early in the morning and I was getting ready for school (I was a senior). I went into the kitchen to grab something to eat and walked into the living room. My mom had the news on and they were at the world trade centers. Only one of the buildings had been hit at the time. I asked what had happened and she said they think a plane was high jacked by terrorists.. I started to say "oh my gosh" and just then the second plane flew into the second building. Mine and my moms mouths just dropped open. We both got teary eyed. You could hear the panic in everybodies voices as they were yelling and screaming. You could hear the camera guy yelling the reporter was trying her best to stay calm and keep her crew calm..It was pure chaos! People running, crying, calling their loved ones who were inside the trade centers. Then when the first building went down.. The fear in everybodies eyes.... Then the third plane that was heading for the Pentagon but crashed into the desert somewhere.. Crazy! When I got to school the whole student body was in mourning. It was such a sad day! We watched the news in all our classes the whole week until the head people (who ever they are) made us turn the t.v.'s off and get back to our regular school schedule. It was a crzy, crazy, life changing day! I will never forget what that day started. We are still living with the aftermath. I am so lucky to be an American. Thankyou to all those who fought and are still fighting for our freedom. Words can never express our (American's) gratitude.

ByeBye Binki!!!!

This is the last time you will see this cute little face with a passy hanging out of it!

So, yesterday Cam was playing and lost his binki. I looked for it everywhere I thought it could be, and it was no where to be found. I then decided this was the perfect opertunity to be rid of binki! This was yesterday morning probably about 7:00 a.m.. He has only cried for it three times. Once while we were at Aunt Lara's for lunch, bed time, and three this morning. It was the cutest thing when I opened his door this morning. I asked him if he was such a big boy sleeping without his binki, and he got the biggest smile i've ever seen on his face and said "yeah!" It was seriously adorable! It made me giggle... It hasn't been nearly the production I thought it would be. He's perfectly happy without it! He's already come out of his shell a little. We were at the grocery store and Alex wandered off a little a bit and Cam goes "Dis, (Alex) NO!" The ladies checking us out thought it was funny that he was yelling at his big brother. I told him next step was pottie in the big toilet and he just grinned at me haha!

Let's Play Music!

Today Alex started music class! He is about three weeks behind, but it's pretty easy, so i'll get him caught up. His teacher had me stay with him today just because she likes to have the parents stay with the first time kids, their first class. So, we went to music class :) I get to go next week also because every other week she has the parents come in and learn along with the kids so they know how to help them practice. It was so funny! When we were on our way Alex asked if I was going to be staying with him and when I said "yes" , he asked "why?". I was kind of shocked. I asked if he wanted me to stay and he said "no..". It shocked me and also made me so happy. I was so scared that he'd be terrified, clinging to me, begging me to stay, crying. I got none of that :) He was so excited to go and meat new friends and learn some music. He's also very shy, and very much a "class clown". So he kept trying to make people laugh at first, but then I told him he had to take this serious and pay attention or else I wouldn't let him go back. He then calmed down and listened to his teacher. I'm excited for him to get out and learn. He loved it! Hopefully he'll continue to love it and be good for Mrs. Tobler....

Gggrrrrrr!!!! Frustration!

I so dont even really know where to start... I am getting pretty tired of people and their judgements about this sweet little boy! I've had people tell me he needs structure, i've had people tell me he's bad and it's basically my fault. Just so many things that are offensive to me and break my heart! First I have to say that he is anything but bad! He doesn't go around hitting, pushing, calling names, or biting other kids. He doesn't go around picking fights. He actually tries to avoid confrontation. He is still learning manners, but those are hard to teach any kid. To say please and thankyou, is it really so hard? I've really kind of HAD IT with people and their snap judgements.... Alex does have some issues. I'm not going to lie... He has a really hard time sitting still. I guess that makes him a bad kid and me a bad mom! What people dont know is that I've worked my BUTT off with this kid since the day he was born. He cried from the time he woke up in the mornings until the time he went to bed, then waking up in the middle of the night for a couple more hours of crying. When he was a baby. He didnt nap unless I was driving him around in my car. He was this way until I just started putting him in his bed and letting him cry. Some days he'd cry for an hour strait until he fell asleep. Then he hit 11 months and started running (yes running not walking...) I couldn't get him to sit for ANYTHING! I had to strap him to his chair at mealtimes just so he'd sit long enough to eat. I couldn't take him anywhere unless I could hold him or strap him into something or he'd run off and this little boy is a fast runner! I couldn't even let him out of the house without holding his hand because as soon as he got out, he'd take off running. And then the terrible two's came along.... He'd throw two or three massive temper tantrums everyday. He'd would roll around on the floor screaming until my ears bled. He has improved so much! He has just come so far in the short four years he's been here. Like I said, i've worked my butt off with him. I can take him to the store and let him walk and he doesn't take off running. If we're at home he'll sit to eat a meal (going to somebodies house, though is another story... ) He VERY rarely throws a temeper tantrum. The last one was up in UT and the time before that it had been a year. He will sit long enough to watch a movie or to watch cartoons in the mornings.

He has a difficult time focusing, but i'm working on that as well. I haven't had any medical professional opinions about him, but I think he's A.D.D and A.D.H.D. I'm afraid to take him to the dr for this because I refuse to medicate my four year old because he has tons of energy and has a hard time focusing. I think riddalin on a four year old is a cop out. Yes at the end of everyday I'm exhausted because just watching Alex is exhausting! The running and running...I dont see how he's not tired all the time. But, he just needs something to focus that energy on. Right now he's focused on King Tut. Even though I get tired of talking about King Tut all day everyday, we've both learned alot and sometimes it's the only way I can get him to just sit and relax. I could go on and on.... Just leave him alone! He's a good boy! I'm not going to have society let my boy think that he's bad, because he's NOT!

Big Day!

Today was a big day for my Jonny Cakes! He had two very big "firsts". He rolled over for the first time this morning. I've been trying to get him to do it agian since then , but he wont.... He almost did it while I was watching, but changed his mind at the last minute and flopped back onto his back. He also started reaching for brother (Cam). We were sitting on the couch, Jonathon sitting on my lap, Cam right next to me under my arm and Jonathon started reaching for Cam. It was so cute and so very sweet! He also tried reaching for a "Transformers" toy that was just out of his reach and started to whine when he couldn't reach it. He is growing so big so fast! I really cannot believe that he is already almost five months old! It really does not feel like he can already be that old! I'm going to cry when he turns one! My boys just keep growing and growing! I really wish they could stay little forever! I do love watching them grow and learn as well, it just makes me sad to think that next year Alex will be starting kindergarten, then two years later Cam, then two years after that Jonathon, then two years after that baby unknown (hopefully). Where does the time go?
