I Think It's Funny...

Alex when he was about 9/10 months old

Cam at 10, 1/2 months old.

What do I think is so funny about my boys? I think that it's so funny that two boys that have the same parents are so different! They look quite alike. Cam has chubbier cheeks, blue eyes, blonde-ish hair, really light skin, and what we like to call the Leavitt nose alittle turned up at the end. Alex on the other hand has brown hair, brown eyes, olive complection, and Danny's nose. They do look like brothers, but so different! Their personalities are also so different! Alex has always been a little high strung (kinda like his mama!). He stresses about the little things, alittle ornery, and wants everything just so! His personality is just like mine!! Cam on the other hand is so laid back (although he's been quite fussy lately), just goes with the flow, happy to do whatever, just really easy going. His personality is just like his daddy's! They are so funny! I love those little boys of mine!! Alex was always so determined just to get up and go! He crawled at 8 months, which isnt early, but i can remember the first time he tried to walk. It was so funny because he was only 6 or 7 months old! He'd just barely learned how to pull himself up to standing. I was sitting on the couch and he was on the floor playing. He pulled himself up to standing then turned let go of the couch, took one step and face planted!! It was so funny! I had to remind him that he was still only a baby and didn't know how to walk yet! He didnt try that again until he was about 10 or so months. Then he started walking at 11 months! Cam started crawling about 8, 1/2 months, again not early at all! He has no desire to start walking! He can stand on his own, with no support, but he refuses to. I'd be surprised it he walked before 14-15 months! Cam is more into getting Daddy's laptop and doing "the works!". Funny, sweet little baby's!!

Operation Pottie Time On Hold!

This is Alex when he was about 7 months old.
So, to save myself from going insane, I decided to hold off on the pottie training for just a little while. I tried for a week, trying everything that i've heard about, putting him on the toilet every 10-15 min, putting the little training pottie out where he can use it whenever he has to use it, letting him sit in his poopie forever, ect. Nothing worked! I even tried having him stand up to go peepee like a boy, and that didnt work. I'm not the most patient person, and got tired of cleaning pee and poop off the floor (yes, he pooped on the floor!) I'm going to try again after his 3rd birthday, which is only 1 week away!! If anybody has any suggestions (that I have not used yet) I'm open to taking them..

Why '09 Sucked!

I really dont mean to be negative and I am definatly not ungratfull. So, take it how you want, here is a recap of our "wonderful" year.
'09 started out with me being hugely fat/pregnant and super moody (I am a very moody person to begin with, being pregnant makes it so much worse) January was not so bad, we had a little work and a little money and a little more work lined up. Was a huge reliefe with my due date only a little over a month away. Feb dragged on because I had my induction date scheduled for Feb 26 late in the evening. (my due date was March 2) My beautiful nephew Christopher Grant Kohntopp was born Feb 13. With my induction date only two weeks away, it made me very anxious! Cam was born Feb 27 early morning, beautiful and healthy, strong lungs! ;) When we got home I knew it would be a huge adjustment for all of us! By the end of March, work had run out! Danny had decided that it would be best if he went up to Salt Lake Utah for work. We blessed Cam April 12, Easter Sunday, then later that day Danny went up to Utah. I think that everything would have been fine if I wasn't stuck at home with a colicy new born (only 6 weeks old) and a very tempermatic, fighting for attention 2 year old. It was very hard, sometimes all I could do was stick both kids in their rooms screaming and all I could do was cry! Then came Saint Becca! My friend Becca who is a school teacher was on her track break, so she would come hang with me, bringing me food, treats, company, and she helped me with crazy baby camadoos, while her little girl and crazy Alex would play together! We love miss Becca and little Kaelyn! She soon had to go back to work. I hung out with a few friends and family to pass the time. Danny was only home Fri, Sat, and would leave Sun. It would get so lonely causing me so much stress, anxiety, health problems! I had a hard time eating and sleeping. I was a complete basket case! Crying all the time, not my brightest hour! Anyway about 2 months of that getting worse, Danny had finally got a house down here. It took alot longer to get started than was expected, 1 1/2 weeks later, it finally started. We went for months with out no more work than remodels and roofing and whatnot. We lived off of income taxes and very little income. We've hardly been able to pay all our bills and mortgage, but we somehow made it thru '09 without ever having any utilities turned off, and we have not lost our house (yet, anyway). Looking forward to a new year and hopefully some wonderful changes!

operation Pottie Time!!

Alex's 3rd birthday is just around the corner, so we decided it was time to crack down on the pottie training! I decided today, being sunday, would be the best day to start. So far, we've not been able to get him to pottie in the toilet! This morning we got up, he had apple juice and some cerial then I told him he couldn't have any undies on til he went pottie in the toilet.( I knew that he would just pee in them! ) So, I could tell that he had to go pottie because he asked me to put a diaper on him. I told him, "no, u need to use the big boy pottie".So he played for about 5 more min. and I could tell he really needed to go pottie, so he finally goes and sits on his toilet, i could tell he was very hesitent, then he stood up walked away and peed on the floor! I think for some reason, he is afraid to use the toilet. It is going to be interesting!! So, for all you faithfull blog readers (if any) be prepared for all the blog posts about our "Adventure in Pottie Training" cause all my blog posts will be about the poopie and the peepee. You were warned ;)
