The Pacifier

(kind of a dumb post.... I'm bored!)

All the reasons I love the passy!

When Alex was born he hated his pacifier. I tried all shapes, textures, brands. He hated it, so I gave up on it. My sisiters told me to force it on him because a passy is a very good thing, but I didnt listen. He didn't want it so he didnt have it. Let me just say he was the fussiest baby! He cried ALL the time! He always wanted to suck on something so i'd think he was hungry, make him a bottle. He'd suck on the nipple long enough to fall asleep. Upon observation of the bottle, to see how much he'd eaten, NOTHING! He just needed to suck on it. So I decided that all my other babies would take a passifier!

Just to list a few....

1. It seems to soothe an upset tummy.

2. it can calm a baby down when nothing else seems to work.

3. It has been proven that putting a baby to bed with a pacifier in their mouth decreases the risk of SIDS.

4.they make baby happy, which makes mommy happy :)

One of the downfalls for me, is when its time to take it away.... Cam is almost 2 1/2 and still has his passy.... I have major anxiety about taking it away! It just makes him so happy!

Jonathon was not born a pacifier baby, but he is becoming one :) even though he is anything but fussy, it does help on the rare occasions when he is fussy. It also helps him to fall asleep alot easier. I usually just have to give him his pacifier and set him down in order for him to fall asleep. I love it! I love that he doesnt have to be rocked or held in order to fall asleep, but I do enjoy it, so he is usually put to sleep that way. It's not always nesassary, though. It help me out because I do have two other kids :)

The Secret LIfe

I dont know who watches this show, but if you dont you should ;).

I was watching Monday's episode. To catch you up, Ben and Adrian were expecting a baby girl. Well the baby dies. Of course I'm crying my eyes out throughout the episode while holding Jonathon in my arms. It really got me thinking of what could've happened to my Jonathon.... If I were a more patient person and actually waited for my dr to come back from his spring break vacation, or even another week for Dr. Martin to deliver the baby could I have been in the same boat? If I didnt go in that morning for an amnio who know's what could've happened. Jonathon wasn't looking very well on monitors before contractions even started. Watching that episode just brought flashbacks of walking to my o.r. not knowing if the baby was ok. Just waiting to see him and hear his first cry. Seeing Dr Swainston with that big huge smile on his face while holding Jonathon up in the air saying "your baby's fine" had to have been the best feeling in the world! I could never thank him enough for saving my baby! Who knows he could have been fine. You just never know...

Jonathon's Blessing Day

It looks like he's trying to karate chop the air

The family :)

Sunday the 5th of June we blessed Jonathon. Henry gave Jonathon his blessing. He always gives the most beautiful belssings!

Our Crazy Life!

Not a whole lot has been going on lately. We're still adjusting to having a new baby in the house. Danny's still looking for work! He's actually up in North Dakota right now. Life is just as crazy as usual! Jonathon is 6 weeks old now!! Time goes by way too fast. He is such a good baby! He has been a DREAM! Both Alex and Cam were such colicy newborns, most days I ended up in tears myself. Jonathon is nothing like that! He is so mellow. He only cries if he's hungry or tired. Even with his cold (he's had it for almost 2 weeks) he's been a dream!

He likes to give mommy big smiles at 4:00 in the morning. The first time he got a real smile on his face was the night before last. He'd got done eating and wanted more, so I put him down on the bed so I could make him a bottle. I was just talking to him and he looked up at me and just got a big toothless smile on his face! He just sat there and smiled at me for 30 seconds. It was so sweet, I almost cried! He again gave me one of his cute little smiles at 4:00 this morning. I think he just knows how tired mommy is and she needs a little pick me up :). He is a sweet little guy!

Cam is going through some stuff right now. I knew he'd have a hard time with the new baby, and he is. When we wake up in the morning I never know what Cam is going to be on the other side of his door. Happy, sweet, loving Cam or not so happy or sweet Cam.

Alex has acted out a little more, but he hasn't been bad at all! He LOVES Jonathon like crazy! He is so sweet with him. Going from two kids to three has been quite a challenge. It's quite a bit harder than going from one to two. It will soon pass, though. Everybody will get used to all the craziness and our lives will feel normal again!

I finally feel about %95 better since my c-section. My skin is really tender for some reason, but other than that, I feel great! I must be a wuss, but after having two natural deliveries and then going from that to a c-section.... It's really sucked for the most part! The whole thing is just so different! A natural delivery you're sore probably 7-10 days. C-section, your sore for like four weeks. It's completly different! Thank goodness that's over and done with :). Thank goodness my dr does v-bacs! There aren't many who do in Vegas. I think there is only onle other.. Anyways, The baby is crying, so I must go to him!

Danny traded a bottle of water so he could do the bunjee thingy for free....

Doing some flips

Getting harnased up

Cute little cowboy!

He had a blast!

So cool

This year the fair was all types of crazy! Thursday we got hurricain speed winds, Friday was freezing and windy, Saturday we got rain, thunder, lightning, hail, snow, FREEZING! Sunday was the only nice day! We tried to take Alex on the rides before the weather got bad on Saturday, but he freaked! We decided to eat some lunch then try again after but by then the craziness started! As we walked to the car lighting was flashing all around us. So close that it made me jump! Me being 9 1/2 months pregnant at the time couldn't move quick enough! Fun times, LOL! Danny had a booth this year. He was selling Hawiian natural spring water. Very delicous! We spent alot of time crashing his booth, hahaha. Here are the very few pics that I got at the fair this year.

(Warning: blogging on sleep deprivation and pain killers. No, I'm not drunk)

Monday the 11'th came. I hadn't slept all night. I was so excited about my appointment in the morning to have my amnio (was also pretty scared...). We wake up birhgt and early and my mom comes over to watch the kids while we are in town. When we get to the hospital they hook me up to the baby monitors. While monitoring me, the nurse told me that the baby wasn't looking like they'd like him to, but everything was ok. Dr. Swainston comes in, does my amnio (which wasn't that bad...) and then he looks at my strip and says the same thing as the nurse. He told me that they might be keeping me there at the hospital. He told the nurse to keep me on the monitors and they both left. As soon as they walked out of the room, the baby's heart rate dropped. Dr Swainston walks back in and says the baby is not supposed to be doing that (i wasn't having contractions at the time.). So we sat there while I was being monitored and they decided to admit me. The baby finally stabalized so they decided to start me on a really low dose of pitocin just to see how he'd handle labor. At first he was doing great, but that didnt last more than an hour and a half. He then started to have major decels in his heart rate. My nurse called Dr Swainston, comes back in an tells me the dredded news! Dr. Swainston was on his way to the hospital to do an emergency c-section! My face, Danny's face, and Lara's face's dropped! All of us were pale and I just started bawling! I was SO scared! I've never been so scared in my life! So I sit there crying, they give Danny and myself our surgery atire. Danny gets all surgery ready, and I'm still crying. I didnt want to go! We walk to our o.r. and i'm having major anxiety (I could hardly breathe) and we go into our room. It's freezing, bright, tons of people every where. I sit on my operating bed and my nurses student just stood there with me and held my hand and rubbed my back. (she was so sweet!) I was pretty much in shock! they give me my spinal, Dr Swainston comes in and tries to lighten the mood (after Danny had given him a hard time in the hall. So sorry about that...) They bring Danny in, cut me open, pull the baby out and there is no visable reason why he wasn't handling labor.. He was perfect and healthy! After it was over, it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be. I'm just so thankful that Jonathon was healthy and I had an awesome dr! My anesthisiologist gave me a little somthin somethin in my i.v. to calm me down ( I wanted to kiss him after that) and I got stitched up and went to my room shortly after to see my sweet little baby boy! Recovery has sucked really bad! It hurts to laugh, sneeze, cough, make sudden movements. I cant wait to be able to rough house with my big boys again because I have missed it so much! It was a pretty crazy ride, that's for sure! All I know is that we are so lucky to have three healthy, beautiful boys!!!!
