Annoying Teenage Drivers!

Today while Danny was on his way out of Overton, some little high school chick pulled out right infront of him! He was on the bend (around Yamashita bridge) when a girl pulled out onto the high way! He slamed on his breaks swerving, trying to avoid hitting her, but ended up hitting the back corner of her car, ripping her back half off! We are very lucky that all he has is a sore jaw (he was clenching it) and the girl was ok. We are so lucky that Danny was not driving his truck or he would have seriously injured her, if not kill her, and we are also lucky he didn't t-bone her, or it probably would have killed her. We are thankfull that was not the case! I'm just not impressed by teenage drivers! The girl supposedly wasn't even supposed to be driving the car because it wasn't insured. I hate to be rude, or whatever, but I dont see that as being our problem. That is a car that we use often (due to the 25 mpg!) we need it fixed and we aren't paying for it! We didnt let our daughter drive our car that was uninsured! The whole thing really frusterates me! Anyhoo, it also makes me alittle sad! Danny gave me that car our first Christmas together (as a married couple). It can be fixed, but poor little girl (yes she's a girl!). Like a part of the family that I was hoping that Alex would be driving when he turns 16 ;)

When To Say Enough Is Enough!

So, I just got done watching 19 Kids And Counting Special Delivery and I think, those people are insane! First thing first! Thinking that God punnished them for using birth control. I always thought that when we agreed to come to earth, we had the free agency to choose everything we did here on earth, not being judged until judgement day. Now if that's true, we wouldnt be punnished for our choices until then, am I wrong? I dont think God punnishes us, we punnish ourselves into guilt. Now, we cant really repent unless we feel guilt, it's all part of the process.. It's really unfortunate for the Duggars to have experienced miscairrage (i've had two, and I definatly feel their pain) doesn't mean I'm going to populate a small colony with my children alone.. When I see their tiny 1lb 6oz baby fighting for her life, is it really worth it?? Yes it's a miracle that she survived, and she is definatly a gift from God, but she's not out of the woods yet. Still only weighing about 3 1/2 lbs she could take a turn for the worst. Hopefully this is a learning experience for them, and they stop having baby's. If birth control was punnishment, what is this? Anyhoo, I guess I just dont understand their thinking.
Also, I see Toddlers In Tierra's. SERIOUSLY!!! I have serious problems with adults who give their little baby girls spray tans, color their hair, and put makeup on them! It just seems so wrong!! Let your little girls be little girls. They make me sick, I guess you could say... Anywho, enough griping for today.. Thanks for reading my blog :=p

Cam checking out the cool race tracks!

Sleeping boy!! He went to sleep with his Lightning Mcqueen. When I went into check on him he was laying with his sippie cup in one arm and his "Favorite race car" in the other arm. Such a sweet little monkey!!
Yesterday Alex turned three years old!! We had a fun day! He woke up and told me that he "wanted his birthday cake!". I told him that birthday cake was a long ways away.. He wasn't really excited about waiting, but what can you do?? His aunt Nadja, Mattingly, Aunt Lara, Davis, Allie, and Kissy came over in the morning to help make the birthday cake. The kids played hard while us adults slaved away in the kitchen ;). After naps the kids helped mommy mop the kitchen floor (not really important, but someday i will probably have to remind them how they used to be good helpers..) It took me forever to get the house cleaned (or so it felt!). At about 6:00 Aunt Lara, Uncle Chris. Aunt Nadja, and all the kids came over to eat some grub and help finish the cake. While we were finishing up, alex came across his present (I didn't have time to wrap it). He was dragging it every where demanding that somebody open it for him! "Open my toy, RIGHT NOW!!" he'd say. I told him that if he couldn't be nice he wouldn't get to keep the toy, then he was happy and playing, not worriing about the present! Then came papa and grandma Bradford. We sang happy birthday, opened his present, ate the cake. Everybody started leaving, Alex and Cam finally settled down, then they went to bed without any fuss! The perfect end to the perfect day! Happy Birthday Rockets!!! I love you!!!

I Think It's Funny...

Alex when he was about 9/10 months old

Cam at 10, 1/2 months old.

What do I think is so funny about my boys? I think that it's so funny that two boys that have the same parents are so different! They look quite alike. Cam has chubbier cheeks, blue eyes, blonde-ish hair, really light skin, and what we like to call the Leavitt nose alittle turned up at the end. Alex on the other hand has brown hair, brown eyes, olive complection, and Danny's nose. They do look like brothers, but so different! Their personalities are also so different! Alex has always been a little high strung (kinda like his mama!). He stresses about the little things, alittle ornery, and wants everything just so! His personality is just like mine!! Cam on the other hand is so laid back (although he's been quite fussy lately), just goes with the flow, happy to do whatever, just really easy going. His personality is just like his daddy's! They are so funny! I love those little boys of mine!! Alex was always so determined just to get up and go! He crawled at 8 months, which isnt early, but i can remember the first time he tried to walk. It was so funny because he was only 6 or 7 months old! He'd just barely learned how to pull himself up to standing. I was sitting on the couch and he was on the floor playing. He pulled himself up to standing then turned let go of the couch, took one step and face planted!! It was so funny! I had to remind him that he was still only a baby and didn't know how to walk yet! He didnt try that again until he was about 10 or so months. Then he started walking at 11 months! Cam started crawling about 8, 1/2 months, again not early at all! He has no desire to start walking! He can stand on his own, with no support, but he refuses to. I'd be surprised it he walked before 14-15 months! Cam is more into getting Daddy's laptop and doing "the works!". Funny, sweet little baby's!!

Operation Pottie Time On Hold!

This is Alex when he was about 7 months old.
So, to save myself from going insane, I decided to hold off on the pottie training for just a little while. I tried for a week, trying everything that i've heard about, putting him on the toilet every 10-15 min, putting the little training pottie out where he can use it whenever he has to use it, letting him sit in his poopie forever, ect. Nothing worked! I even tried having him stand up to go peepee like a boy, and that didnt work. I'm not the most patient person, and got tired of cleaning pee and poop off the floor (yes, he pooped on the floor!) I'm going to try again after his 3rd birthday, which is only 1 week away!! If anybody has any suggestions (that I have not used yet) I'm open to taking them..

Why '09 Sucked!

I really dont mean to be negative and I am definatly not ungratfull. So, take it how you want, here is a recap of our "wonderful" year.
'09 started out with me being hugely fat/pregnant and super moody (I am a very moody person to begin with, being pregnant makes it so much worse) January was not so bad, we had a little work and a little money and a little more work lined up. Was a huge reliefe with my due date only a little over a month away. Feb dragged on because I had my induction date scheduled for Feb 26 late in the evening. (my due date was March 2) My beautiful nephew Christopher Grant Kohntopp was born Feb 13. With my induction date only two weeks away, it made me very anxious! Cam was born Feb 27 early morning, beautiful and healthy, strong lungs! ;) When we got home I knew it would be a huge adjustment for all of us! By the end of March, work had run out! Danny had decided that it would be best if he went up to Salt Lake Utah for work. We blessed Cam April 12, Easter Sunday, then later that day Danny went up to Utah. I think that everything would have been fine if I wasn't stuck at home with a colicy new born (only 6 weeks old) and a very tempermatic, fighting for attention 2 year old. It was very hard, sometimes all I could do was stick both kids in their rooms screaming and all I could do was cry! Then came Saint Becca! My friend Becca who is a school teacher was on her track break, so she would come hang with me, bringing me food, treats, company, and she helped me with crazy baby camadoos, while her little girl and crazy Alex would play together! We love miss Becca and little Kaelyn! She soon had to go back to work. I hung out with a few friends and family to pass the time. Danny was only home Fri, Sat, and would leave Sun. It would get so lonely causing me so much stress, anxiety, health problems! I had a hard time eating and sleeping. I was a complete basket case! Crying all the time, not my brightest hour! Anyway about 2 months of that getting worse, Danny had finally got a house down here. It took alot longer to get started than was expected, 1 1/2 weeks later, it finally started. We went for months with out no more work than remodels and roofing and whatnot. We lived off of income taxes and very little income. We've hardly been able to pay all our bills and mortgage, but we somehow made it thru '09 without ever having any utilities turned off, and we have not lost our house (yet, anyway). Looking forward to a new year and hopefully some wonderful changes!

operation Pottie Time!!

Alex's 3rd birthday is just around the corner, so we decided it was time to crack down on the pottie training! I decided today, being sunday, would be the best day to start. So far, we've not been able to get him to pottie in the toilet! This morning we got up, he had apple juice and some cerial then I told him he couldn't have any undies on til he went pottie in the toilet.( I knew that he would just pee in them! ) So, I could tell that he had to go pottie because he asked me to put a diaper on him. I told him, "no, u need to use the big boy pottie".So he played for about 5 more min. and I could tell he really needed to go pottie, so he finally goes and sits on his toilet, i could tell he was very hesitent, then he stood up walked away and peed on the floor! I think for some reason, he is afraid to use the toilet. It is going to be interesting!! So, for all you faithfull blog readers (if any) be prepared for all the blog posts about our "Adventure in Pottie Training" cause all my blog posts will be about the poopie and the peepee. You were warned ;)
